Race-day support and seconding for the Two Oceans Marathon

Race Support runs staffed seconding points on the Two Oceans 56 km route for runners without a club table. You hand us your nutrition before the race. We hand it back at 18 km and at 40 km — before Chapman's Peak, and again when the climb has taken what it takes.

Why the 56 km needs a plan

Two Oceans is billed as the world's most beautiful marathon, and the route earns it: out along the False Bay coast, up Chapman's Peak, over Constantia Nek, then home. It is also 56 km with its hardest climbing in the back half, which is a poor combination with improvised fuelling.

The official refreshment stations are well stocked, but they carry the race's products, not yours. Seconding is how you get your own plan — the gels and pre-mixed bottles you trained on — into your hand at a fixed point on the route. Local clubs set up tables for their members. If you are unattached, visiting Cape Town for the race, or travelling without a support crew, Race Support is that table.

Common questions

Do I need to belong to a club?

No. Race Support is built for runners without a club seconding table, including visitors to Cape Town and international entrants.

Where exactly are the seconding points?

At roughly 18 km and 40 km. Exact positions are confirmed to booked athletes before race day, once road closures and spectator access for the year are published.

Do you supply the nutrition?

No — you do, and that is the point. You hand over what you have trained on and we stage it where you will want it.

Can my family use the seconding points?

The points are set up for runners and their nutrition. If you want supporters looked after on the day as well, talk to us before booking so we can tell you what is possible for that year's route.

I am running both Two Oceans and Comrades. Can I book both?

Yes. Many athletes run Two Oceans in April as a build towards Comrades in June, and support can be booked for each race.

When is the next Two Oceans Marathon?

3 April 2027. Seconding points have a fixed capacity, so bookings close once they are full.

Also running Comrades?

See race-day support for the Comrades Marathon, with seconding points at 30 km and 60 km of the 89 km route.
